Sør-Varanger Culture Hall
In 2012, Samovarteateret moved into a brand-new theater building - Sør-Varanger kultursal / Sør-Varanger Culture Hall. Sør-Varanger Municipality owns the premises, and all daily operations are managed by Samovarteateret.
The Culture Hall has a stage with 189 seats and a welcoming café area. Here we hold rehearsals, showcase productions and welcome guest performances from Hålogaland Teater, Riksteatret, Beaivváš Sámi Našunálateáhter, Stellaris DansTeater, plus various partners and independent artists.
In addition, we host different local events, from DKS productions for local schools to local concerts and cultural events, meetings and conferences.
Accessibility
We want all our guests have a pleasant experience. If you require any support or assistance for your visit, we ask that you please contact us in advance.
The cultural hall is accessible to the hearing impaired with a Phonak system that connects directly to all newer hearing aids. For older models, please see one of our staff to borrow adapted equipment. More information about our Phonak system here.
The premises are also accessible to wheelchair users. We are happy to assist you in the elevator and to escort you to seating in the hall.
