SANNHET

Produced by Samovarteateret (2017)
"There are no hard distinctions between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true and what is false. A thing is not necessarily either true or false; it can be both true and false.’ I believe that these assertions still make sense and do still apply to the exploration of reality through art."

In the making of the performance "Sannhet", director Bente S. andersen and Samovarteateret have been inspired by Harold Pinter's Nobel Prize lecture "Art, Truth and Politics".
We live in a time where the line between the private and public space is blurring. We are able to express ourselves and our opinions through digital media without having to take responsibility for it. The term "Fake news" has taken the world by storm, and has initiated a debate about the truths we build our perception of reality on.
We can create a picture perfect version of our selves on blogs, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. Is the image we create there our true selves? Or is that only how we wish to be percieved? What is the relationship between us and the truth?
