Safariland

Produced by Kristinsdottir/Willyson (2025)
In cooperation with Samovarteateret
"Safariland" is a travel diary in pub-format. The Finnmark troubadours Mattis and Tom Rudy serve up the best of Northern Norwegian storytelling tradition, to tell the story of southerners Arne and Randy's journey and fall, and their early attempts at reparation.
Arne is writing a book about his grandfather, who in 1952 created the disputed movie "Safari Land: Among N* and Wildlife in East Africa". The stage artist Randy joins the journey in order to achieve his dream of going on safari. The experience does not turn out like expected.
The Artist duo Kristinsdottir/Willyson is known for experimental, tender and laughter inducing plays with big questions, strong emotions and everyday people.
The play is made in collaboration with The Samovar Theatre and is co-produced by Porsgrunn International Theatre Festival, True Northern Arts Festival, Black Box Theatre and Rosendal Theatre.
