The journey brought fascinating meetings and stories. We shared wonderful moments with other people. Reality became fiction, and the fiction became the stage performance "Radio Barents 111". "Radio Barents 111" is the story about a radio station broadcasting in five different languages, and which captures the restless souls of the region.

The stage performance begins with a short interview with the father of The Barents Cooperation - Thorvald Stoltenberg - who wishes the radio station good luck. Afterwards we are carried into a documentary reality that slowly transforms into the playful freedom of fiction. Through video, dance, the actors' five languages, warmth and humour, a diverse cast of characters are introduced. In the middle of it all, Samovarteateret goes on a jorney to find out what it means to be a citizen of the Barents region. Slowly the stories are weaved together and through a series of fantastical events - the region will never be the same again.

"Radio Barents 111" is the answer to our dream of cooperating accross different languages and cultures in the Barents region. In the performance we step into a region full of optimism and a will to survive. The performance is a warm homage to the future of our region.
