MOMENT vol. 1 is a scenic concert performance based on the everyday life of young people and the elements that shape us as individuals. Are there any available identities left? And is it at all possible to run from your own heritage? This is the first part of a trilogy, which had its world premiere during the Barents Spektakel festival in 2025.

Growing up is a complicated process, that we all have to go through. It's about finding who you are and who you are not, finding out who you want to become and who you want to avoid becoming. The impressions that affect and shape us as humans are endless, and some are more impactful than others. What has the power to affect our innermost dreams and ambitions? In the attempt to find our individuall identity and our place in the world, we have to find foothold in ourselves, and acknowledge the moments that surround us. Is it possible to find your personal identity within familiar boundaries? Or do we have to break free and stand out from what is known to us? What does identity and belonging mean for people's dreams and values?

In the first volume of MOMENT, Samovarteateret sheds light on young people and how their personal values and belonging shape the different moments that we are actively and passively surrounded by. The performance is written in close collaboration with young artists and musicians in Eastern Finnmark. An important aim of MOMENT is the method itself, where the process of creative collaboration creates a new and original expression. Original music meets text excerpts by Ingeborg Arvola, an author with close ties to both the region and the Samovar Theatre.
