Lost in the Horizon (III)

Produced by Samovarteateret (2023)
Supported by BarentsKult, Kulturdepartementet, Sør-Varanger kommune, Troms og Finnmark fylkeskommune
Considering Samovarteateret's geographical placement in Kirkenes, it is natural to cooperate with performing arts communities in the Barents region and other border regions across Europe. Lost in the Horizon was shown only once in Petrozavodsk and once in Kirkenes. Samovarteateret started planning a bigger tour in March 2020, but was interrupted by the pandemic. On February 24th 2022, Russia started a horrible war against Ukraine, and the connection with Samovarteateret's Russian collaborators was broken. Reality caught up with Lost in the Horizon, and the performance has now been reworked. Its message and theme about human worth, democracy and emigration is now even more important to bring to the audience.
